at least you were allowed calculators. on my nursing exams we were not allowed calculators. granted the math we do is pretty basic.
Unless people are studying to be math majors, I think calculators should be allowed. And even when I took my math courses in college (I have a minor in mathematics), we were allowed to use our calculators.
But for those who use calculators on the job, I think it’s silly to restrict the use of calculators on exams. Exams should prepare us for the job. So if calculators are available in the workplace, they should be available on exams.

My 12 yr old is using the French. It seems like a great program.

I haven’t, but a good friend of mine in the Navy it used it to learn Arabic. Heretofore he was unteachable, so there’s that.

my cousin used it. it worked great for him. he lived in spain for 5 years. so it must have worked.
Thanks for the responses, ladies. The Volume 1-5 is $499 right now. Well, for all I know, it’s always been that price. But I feel like I really need to fix my Spanish language deficiency if I want to practice medicine in Southern California. It’s sad, I actually cringe when I see a patient chart and notice a Spanish last name. Because I don’t know enough to communicate with them. And in those moments I wish I had taken Spanish more seriously in college. Or that I had spent a year in Argentina learning it like my sister did.
But once in a while I get patients who have the audacity to be upset that I don’t know Spanish… and then I’m like… whatever… And it kills any sympathy I have for that moment.
Apparently I have a thing for awkward moments….
