Mom thinks I look horrible today…
Mom: Jeff, go take a shower so you feel fresh.
Me: I’m always fresh.
Mom: No, you look like you are…
At this point her voice just trailed off because she was walking away.
I guess I look like crap… but I’m sick!
Phone Convo w/ Mom (paraphrase)
- Me: Can you email me the phone numbers?
- Mom: I'll just give it to you.
- Me: Can you email it?
- Mom: Ok, I'll text you.
- Me: Can you just email it?
- Mom: Ok!
Guess Mom Was Worried About Pathophys
Yesterday I had my Pathophysiology final exam. The policy is that as long as you pass the final with a 65%, then you pass the course. If you don’t get below 65% on the final, then they will average all the scores, with the final weighing 40% of your grade and the average must be above 65%
The test was 120 questions and we were given 5 hours. It started at 9:00 AM and we were given 60 questions and 2.5 hours to complete it. We had to come back at 1:00 PM for the second.
After the test my brain was a wreck. I couldn’t think and it was hard for me to get studying for the next exam (Pharmacology). Well the posted the scores later that night and I passed it.
Today I messaged mom on Yahoo:
Me: so i passed the hardest class in 2nd year
Mom: thank GOd
Yeah.. So I guess she was worried about it.
A Phone Conversation (As Relayed To Me)
Mom: Your brother looked like hell.
Sister: What? He told you that?
Mom: Yeah.
Sister: When?!?
Mom: On Twitter.
This was shortly after I had learned mom had figured out how to read my Twitter timeline.
A Yahoo! conversation with Mom
- Me: I got a $25 gift certificate [for helping out at school].
- Mom: congratulation
- Mom: you can [buy] me dinner
- Me: The gift certificate was for Barnes and Nobles. Not for food.
- Mom: oh too bad
- Mom: are you in class
- Me: yes
- This was the conversation I had with my Mom this morning on Yahoo Messenger. You will notice two things about mom from this convo. (1) She prefers food over books, and (2) if she finds out that I'm in class she will cut the conversation off immediately, no matter how abruptly. Oh, and (3), she apparently doesn't like to use capitalization or punctuation marks. (But I'll give her a pass as she didn't start speaking English until she was 28.)
My Mommy is Awesome
Occasionally I will post something about my parents. Usually there is something my mother does that makes me laugh. But this didn’t make me laugh. This just made me appreciate her awesomeness all the more.
Last night I tweeted this:
“And continuing in my high roller ways I have just charged $505 in order for the privilege of sitting for an exam. Whop-dee-doo.”
I guess mom saw the tweet this morning because she talked to me on the phone and asked if I needed any money for the exam.
But I said “no thanks” and that I was fine. What she doesn’t need to know is that I’ll just tack it on to my growing debt load. She has enough other finances to worry about at the moment.

Oh, mom
So last night I tweeted this:

And this morning mom messages me on Yahoo and asks, “somebody broke into your car?”
*sigh* Oh mom…
But I do lover her!
Shortly after I tweeted this I got a Yahoo message from my mom.
She told me to be careful about Twitter and not to let it suck my life into it.
I guess this is what I get for putting a twitter feed on my blog. At this point, though, I don’t think she has found my tumblr. Shhh! ;)
Mom Cut My Hair Today
- Mom gave me a haircut today. I don't mind. She isn't bad at it. It is nice because she doesn't charge me for it and because I don't have to explain how I want my hair done. She already knows.
- It got a bit more exciting than I'd like today when this conversation started as she was finishing up.
- Mom: I hope you like the style today.
- Me: What?!? What did you change?
- Mom: Just a little bit.
- Me: WHAT did you change?
- Mom: It's ok. It looks good.
- I'm going to go to a mirror now. Crossing my fingers.
