My sister took these pictures. I love (not really) the name of the garden. Morning Calm.

Stories From Korea
As you know, the sister is in Korea. She has been teaching there since the beginning of the month. One of the classes she teaches is a Bible class. At her first Bible class she met one student who is an older gentleman with an adult son.
And when I say that she met one student, I mean that she met one student. He was the only person in the class.
Anyways, he proceeded to regale her with stories of how wonderful his son was and that he worked at some large Korean corporation. Ignoring the fact that my sister said she had a boyfriend back home, he told her that he wanted her to date his son. And proceeded to try and sell her on the idea.
And thus began my sister’s teaching career in a land far, far away.

GPOY - The lone article of clothing that I received as a gift tonight. Black scarf. Which blends right in with the black shirt I am wearing, but whatever. You get the point. The sister is trying to style me. Thanks, lil sis.
early-Christmas
The family is getting together tonight. Gift exchange and game time planned by my sister (appetite4life). I can already tell this is going to be an embarrassing night.
We’re doing Christmas earlier than normal cause my sister is leaving for Korea next weekend. She’ll be teaching English for 4 months.
GPOYour-Notes-and-Your-Sister
Yeah. This is our 4th of July. We are sitting here at the dining table studying — her for her MCAT and me for Step 2 CK. And eating mangos.

is that allowed?
Yup. It is allowed. But you need to request permission in writing. I hear it’s been done. But obviously most people don’t.
whitehotcenter answered your question: Crazy thought of the day:
Sounds wonderful to me. But, aren’t you afraid of losing momentum?
Eh… So yes. I guess it’s a concern. But on the other hand, once I graduate I will never have the opportunity to take a year off and spend it studying a language. Or will I? I dunno…
corgiaddict answered your question: Crazy thought of the day:
a good portion of people in my class took a year to do this or earn an MPH at some prestigious school.
That’s awesome. Did you ever consider doing it?
ninjatengu answered your question: Crazy thought of the day:
do it. its becoming a more common thing among medstudents
Yeah. The idea is gaining some mental momentum.
mrsonsai answered your question: Crazy thought of the day:
Go to Korea instead!

whoaaaa…do it. or korea w/me =)
Korea sounds like it’d be a blast. But I doubt learning Korean would be as helpful as learning Spanish — especially since I’m hoping to practice in Southern California.
appetite4life replied to your post: Day 1 of Plastic Surgery
what are u doing surgery on?? this is excitinggg
So apparently now my sister is communicating with me through messages on tumblr…
Tomorrow’s surgery is to fix a craniosynostosis. Basically the problem is premature closure of the sutures of the skull which results in an oddly shaped head. As I understand it, the surgery will be jointly done by Neurosurgery & Plastic Surgery teams.
