When did my little (19 year old) cousin start...
Cousin: You don't have a case for your phone?
Me: I do. But I don't use it. I like to see the beauty of the phone.
Cousin: That's cute.

Anger feels better than pain
smile-and-a-wink: But eventually the anger goes away and the pain remains. I think this is true for any great disappointment…

For reals
This Atlanta airport may be huge and all international, but that Panda Express was the worst excuse for Chinese food I’ve ever had. And I usually like them.

Not that I’m complaining. Nor are the other people sitting around me in the airport.

dogtagsandflipflops replied to your post: My right armpit has been itchy and driving me crazy all afternoon. Should I call 911? PRN is by mouth, isn’t it? PO is by mouth. From the Latin “per os.” PRN is as needed. Form the latin “pro re nata.”

Far, Far Away
When I was a kid, I once got so jealous of all the attention my sister was getting and told my mom I wanted to run far, far away. That’s all I told her. I had no idea where I wanted to go. But I knew I wanted to go far away. I never did try to run away, though. I think I liked it too much at home. Eventually, I did move far away when I left for college. After being born and raised in...

Hello, Ohio
I finally arrived in Dayton, Ohio this morning at around 9:30 this morning. When I arrived I found out that they were expecting their first snowfall today. At least this is what the lady at Budget Car Rental told me.  So much for hoping for good weather. I was already prepared for cold weather. Now I have to deal with cold and wet weather. Once I got to my rental car I made my way to the...

Overheard in the Hospital
As you know, I was up in Portland last week for an interview. During our tour, we walked through one nurses station. I heard the nurses wondering amongst themselves who we were. And then I heard:  They don’t work here… They’re dressed too nicely. I guess they aren’t used to people suiting up, up there.

Fitness, Health, & Relationships
A few years ago I heard of husbands (or fiances) requiring of their brides(-to-be) a contractual agreement to maintain their figure throughout their marriage. I laughed. Ridiculous, I thought to myself. Even as a male who accepts that males are visual creatures, I thought this to be a very shallow and superficial thing to ask of someone you love.  I won’t pretend to know what the motivation...

the intellectual housewife.
abangnotawhimper: The fact that I don’t have to go back to work until next Monday is just starting to really hit me, and it’s fucking awesome. If only I could be an intellectual housewife, all my dreams would come true. I would bake vegan treats and sell them to local cafes, volunteer at animal shelters, start a book club for women who like to read books that don’t suck, take care of my awesome...

Who would've thought I'd miss it...
This is my third week of “vacation.” I put it in quotes because it hasn’t been all fun and relaxation. My first week I had to take Step 2 CS (one of the US licensing exams) and last week I flew up to Portland for an interview. Tonight I’ll fly out to Dayton, OH for another one. I’ll be back on Wednesday night and on Thursday I’ll drive up to Santa Clara for an...
